This is an important video archive from the Freedom Convoy on February 18, 2022 when police moved in and trampled two innocent Canadians with their horses. Candace Sero is the woman with the walker and there is an unknown man in a brown coat.
Druthers reporter Kingsley was there doing a LIVE video when this happened. You can watch the full 21 minute live video below.
Ottawa police spread misinformation the next day on their Twitter account:
We hear your concern for people on the ground after the horses dispersed a crowd. Anyone who fell got up and walked away. We’re unaware of any injuries. A bicycle was thrown at the horse further down the line and caused the horse to trip. The horse was uninjured.
What Ottawa police said, according to Politifact:
Ottawa interim Police Chief Steve Bell, in a news briefing Feb. 19, decried the misinformation on social media and said “photoshopped images” of the incident were being shared.
He said due to “increased aggression” by demonstrators, mounted police rode through the crowd to create “separation” and try to lower the temperature “so as not to escalate force.”
Special Investigations Unit released a statement on April 4th:
A review of the available medical records indicates that the woman did not sustain any fractures and that her injury was limited to a strained shoulder. In the circumstances, as the woman did not sustain a ‘serious injury’ within the terms of the SIU’s mandate, the SIU does not have statutory jurisdiction to investigate the matter, and the file is closed.
Candace’s family seems to think otherwise:
Family members said the woman involved suffered a broken clavicle.
